Health Benefits of a Smoothie Cleanse

A smoothie cleanse is a lot different than a juice fast. Smoothies retain all the fiber of whole raw fruits and vegetables.

In addition, eating fiber is an easy and inexpensive way to prevent disease and help the body eliminate waste and harmful toxins.

Benefits of a smoothie cleanse include the following:

Better digestion and elimination: The fiber in smoothies helps eliminate waste and improve digestion

Healthy substitute for high-sugar beverages and snacks: Smoothies contain nutritious ingredients like fiber and slow-digesting foods such as nuts, seeds, flax or yogurt. Unlike coffee or sodas, a smoothie will keep you satisfied for hours.

A stand-alone meal: Meal replacement: The high nutrient content makes smoothies a great meal replacement. You can add small amounts of protein and other high nutrient foods for a satisfying stand-alone meal

Weight reduction: When utilized as part of a low-sugar or low-fat diet, smoothies provide wholesome nutrients to your cells. They also offer bulk (from fiber), which will make you feel full thus helping you reduce weight. In addition, some smoothies like a Blueberry & Vanilla Yogurt Smoothie (see recipe below) will specifically target belly fat.

Yogurt & kefir: The calcium in yogurt and kefir is said to help people lose belly fat and also lose less muscle when dieting. This is because yogurt is easily digested and the dairy calcium slows down the body’s fat-making process while targeting weight around the belly.

Blueberries: Recent research by the University of Michigan suggests that natural compounds in blueberries help reduce belly fat, improve blood-sugar regulation and lower cholesterol levels. This is due to blueberries natural antioxidant compounds known as phytochemicals. For more information: Blueberries May Help Shrink Belly Fat; Boost Brain Health

Organic Flaxseed Oil: This amazing plant-based fat or monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) is a good-for-you fat that is said to protect against chronic disease and improve heart health. Even more, recent research suggests that flaxseed may even target belly fat!

The 5 Day Detox Smoothie Cleanse

This 5 day detox is comprised of fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies that are highly nutritious and easy to make. A smoothie cleanse allows the body to remove accumulated toxins, nourish the cells and tissues plus rest the digestive system.

Special Note: If you require more calories in your daily diet then add protein powder to your smoothie. It is essential that you use a healthy brand such as MacaForce or Spiru-Tein. It’s because many protein powders are loaded with preservatives, allergens like soy and dairy, genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and other manmade toxins like saccharin, aspartame and artificial flavors.
