Without Quality Water We Die
As the founder of Eco Friendly Green Product, I am proud to introduce a remarkable company called WaterChef. They are a prominent brand for quality water filter systems. In actuality, they know their stuff.
WaterChef has been in business since 1988 and stays up-to-the-minute on filtration technology.
Now we all know that you can only live without water for 3 days. We need water to live, plain and simple.
In fact, we use water for just about everything; to drink, to take a bath or shower, for cooking, doing laundry, to grow food and to make coffee or tea.
But what about quality water, do we need it to stay healthy?
The body requires a regular supply of quality water to maintain health. You need water for cooking and bathing along with many other things. So you try to eat healthy, right? Well, quality water and healthy eating go hand in hand. For example, you may buy 100% organic including food and house products. Yet you use regular tap water that has tons of contaminants.
What’s in Your Water?
Quite frankly, most people don’t think about their tap water being contaminated. After all, tap water is safe, right? What you don’t realize is that your water can be contaminated with substances that can be harmful.
In 2005, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) tested municipal water in 42 states and identified over 260 contaminants in public water supplies. Out of the 260 contaminants, 140 were unregulated chemicals. Chemicals that are unregulated have no set public health standards.
Overall, it is considered generally safe if your water comes from a public system in the United States. In fact, the Environmental Protection Agency has the power to monitor all public water systems and regulate enforceable health standards in regards to contaminants in drinking water.
Undeniably, mishaps can happen and water supplies can get contaminated. In addition, not all contaminates have standards. And let’s not forget about out-of-date plumbing, pollution or wells that rely on nearby streams and water runoffs that can be contaminated.
NRDC’s ‘What’s on Tap?’, did an in depth research on the drinking water systems in 19 U.S. cities. They found numerous problems like out-of-date and deteriorating plumbing plus pollution.
The contaminants that repeatedly showed up were:
- Radon: the rocket fuel perchlorate and other carcinogens which are highly toxic
- Arsenic: may cause cancer, birth defects, serious skin problems and reproductive issues
- Lead: from corrosion of pipes and plumbing fixtures, can cause brain damage in infants and children
- By-products of chlorine treatment (haloacetic acids trihalomethanes): may cause reproductive problems and cancer
- Pathogens (germs): can make people sick, especially those with weakened immune systems, the frail elderly and young children
Note: Now you might think that bottled water is safe. The bottom line is that most bottled water comes from the tap. As well, numerous companies use toxic plastic like BPA to bottle water.
Drinking Quality Water
The only way to ensure that you have quality water is to use a reliable water filtration system.
WaterChef combines the power of solid carbon block filtration with a unique, patented blend of additional filter medias to maximize contaminant reduction.
They have unsurpassed contaminant reduction of common tap water contaminants like
- Chlorine By-Products (like Trihalomethanes)
- Cysts (including Giardia and Cryptosporidium)
- Synthetic Contaminants (Pesticides and Herbicides)
- Petroleum Contaminants (such as Benzene and MTBE)
- Industrial Contaminants (like Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs))
Their water filtration systems are easy to install and are tested & certified by NSF. WaterChef systems can deliver up to 1,000 GALLONS (3,785 L) of fresh quality water with a single cartridge! For added convenience, there is an Intelligent Monitor’s LED indicator built right into the system. GREEN: normal system operation, YELLOW: less than 10% of cartridge capacity remains and RED: cartridge capacity has been reached.
Now you may be wondering if the water filtration system removes even healthy minerals. In truth, the filter allows beneficial minerals like magnesium, calcium and potassium to remain in the water. The result is refreshing and great tasting quality water. You get quality water that is healthy and naturally balanced without de-mineralization associated with other filtration technologies like distillation and reverse osmosis.
So what are you waiting for, check it out!
